the preuter family

Every year, I (Andrea) look forward to photographing my friends and their handsome bunch of boys. Although the day was decidedly grey and not much warmer than it was last year, we made the most of it and had fun skipping rocks, kicking up sand... oh! And taking photos, too!

The anticipation that these two are feeling to meet their little one is tangible. We can't wait to hear the happy news, Lindsey & Matt!

Little Finley had a rough first few weeks of his life. Shortly after he was born, it was discovered that he would need heart surgery to correct a narrowed artery. It is hard to imagine a more difficult thing to deal with as a parent - all the needle pokes, the tests, the emergency flight to a bigger hospital, the tubes and wires constantly encircling such a sweet little babe, and not to mention the incision and after-effects of major surgery. But Mike and Amanda bore it with grace - grace given to them from their loving God and Saviour. They trusted His plan and his timing with their baby boy's life.

It was a sweet day when they were finally able to come home as a family and get back into normal life - although, life with a newborn never seems very "normal"! But, these photos say it all. The love this family has for each other and for their Saviour is so evident. It was a privilege to be able to photograph my dear friend and business partner's family at this milestone in their lives!

"It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness."
-Charles Haddon Spurgeon

I know I (Andrea) have said it before, but I can't but help say it again: there is no greater honour for me as a photographer than to photograph people that have a special home in my heart! This family is growing and so stinkin beautiful, and their laid-back shoot was just about perfect. I love it when I can shadow my subjects, pushing down that shutter button as they simply are who they are. There is nothing more natural or beautiful!

the hoven family

A forest, fall leaves, birthday cake and balloons! What a pleasure to shoot this family's photos (again!) and capture their son's first birthday. We hope these photos bring many fond memories of your time in Weyburn and we wish you the best on your move to a new city.

the preuter family

If I (Andrea) had a bucket list of families that I hope to one day photograph, this family would have certainly been on it. I met Candice and Josiah when I was at Bible college. They were the only married couple in our class, and I couldn't help but notice how fond they were of each other. Fast forward five years, and all I can say is that the love has only grown between them. It was such a privilege to photograph them and (finally!) meet their three beautiful little boys in person.

the white family

Photographing this family for me (Andrea) was really, really special. Criston and I met at Bible college and became instant friends. I may have even been there the very first time she met her future husband. Two of our babies were due within a week of each other (but, oddly enough, were born almost a month apart!), and, although we lived in different provinces for the majority of the last five years, now we're just 30 minutes away from each other. I simply must insist, yet again, that photographing people I know and love is the greatest privilege of all!

the schwindt family: lifestyle session

Have you ever wanted to slow down time, to freeze a frame of this crazy thing we call life and remember that moment forever? Sometimes it seems impossible to grasp the beauty of what we do every day because we're down in the trenches, doing the things we as moms (or dads) think no one will ever remember. Although it can no way cover the thousand little (and yet not little at all) things that happen each day, a lifestyle session is a wonderful way to help preserve those precious, day-to-day moments in our memories before they are gone.

We would be honoured to come alongside you and your family, and act as a fly on the wall of your home. A meal, daily routines, or simply a good romp out in the yard with dad are the perfect opportunities for us to photograph you, and we would love to show you the enormous beauty in them.

Thank you so much, Schwindts, for inviting us into your home to do just that. We treasure the memories made, the moments immortalized.
