the preuter family

Every year, I (Andrea) look forward to photographing my friends and their handsome bunch of boys. Although the day was decidedly grey and not much warmer than it was last year, we made the most of it and had fun skipping rocks, kicking up sand... oh! And taking photos, too!

The anticipation that these two are feeling to meet their little one is tangible. We can't wait to hear the happy news, Lindsey & Matt!

Little Finley had a rough first few weeks of his life. Shortly after he was born, it was discovered that he would need heart surgery to correct a narrowed artery. It is hard to imagine a more difficult thing to deal with as a parent - all the needle pokes, the tests, the emergency flight to a bigger hospital, the tubes and wires constantly encircling such a sweet little babe, and not to mention the incision and after-effects of major surgery. But Mike and Amanda bore it with grace - grace given to them from their loving God and Saviour. They trusted His plan and his timing with their baby boy's life.

It was a sweet day when they were finally able to come home as a family and get back into normal life - although, life with a newborn never seems very "normal"! But, these photos say it all. The love this family has for each other and for their Saviour is so evident. It was a privilege to be able to photograph my dear friend and business partner's family at this milestone in their lives!

sawyer

Just over a year ago, we photographed this lovely couple's wedding. It was cold and blustery, but their joy made the whole day radiant.  Now, their joy has multiplied with the arrival of their sweet little boy, Sawyer. I know you can probably tell from the pictures, but I simply must mention how absolutely besotted these new parents are with their little munchkin. And, really, can you blame them?

april & ryan

Whenever we work with little ones, they definitely make us work hard for our photographs. But, they always, always pay us so well with their gorgeous smiles in the end. Thank you, April and Ryan, for sharing your beautiful family with us!

the mickler family

This family was a delight to photograph.  I mean, look at those proper little cowboys! From bale jumping to cattle wrangling, these boys have it pretty good.

"It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness."
-Charles Haddon Spurgeon

I know I (Andrea) have said it before, but I can't but help say it again: there is no greater honour for me as a photographer than to photograph people that have a special home in my heart! This family is growing and so stinkin beautiful, and their laid-back shoot was just about perfect. I love it when I can shadow my subjects, pushing down that shutter button as they simply are who they are. There is nothing more natural or beautiful!

"Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one's youth.
Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them!
He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate."
Psalm 127:3-5, ESV

The last time I photographed this family, they had three beautiful boys. Now they have four! It's been so great to keep up old friendships and get to see their family grow while we're at it.

"While we try to teach our children all about life,
Our children teach us what life is all about."
-Angela Schwindt

It was a beautiful thing to witness first hand how loved this spunky little girl is. Thank you, Brown family, for inviting us to your beautiful farm to capture these memories for you.

the boyle family

"Fun" isn't even an adequate word to describe this family and this shoot. We braved the ridiculously windy weather (and tornado watch) and ended up having a truly memorable evening. Thanks, Boyles, for being such awesome clients & friends!

the brucks family

It was so wonderful to see this family one year later and have the privilege of photographing them again. We've loved watching their beautiful children grow through our lenses!

“Now and then in life, love catches you unawares, illuminating the dark corners of your mind, and filling them with radiance. Once in a while you are faced with a beauty and a joy that takes your soul, all unprepared, by assault.”
- Jennifer Worth

To stand as witness to this very form of love in the home of this beautiful little family is a moment we won't readily forget. The very least we as photographers can do when love does come in this fashion is to immortalize just a few of those tender, early, bleary-eyed, sleep deprived, and besotted moments. There are some things that are just too fragile and too precious to forget.

the friesen family

Three cute kids. An awesome couple. A chilly morning. And two photographers. It was a winning combination. :) Plus, it helps when they also happen to be great friends of yours! Thanks, Friesens, for commissioning us for these fun photographs! It was so great to see you guys again, albeit for a brief amount of time.

a mid-fall family session

We cannot speak of photographing this family without mentioning how hilarious it was to photograph these spunky siblings. These kids are as fiery as their red hair, that's for sure! Any pose we could think of, they would run with and throw all of their personality into. It was so much fun watching them interact and make it their own.

the hoven family

A forest, fall leaves, birthday cake and balloons! What a pleasure to shoot this family's photos (again!) and capture their son's first birthday. We hope these photos bring many fond memories of your time in Weyburn and we wish you the best on your move to a new city.
